The St George Illawarra Dragons Junior Representative teams will be in action once again this Saturday, March 7.
The St George Dragons will take on both the South West Sydney Academy of Sports and the West Coast Pirates which will them play on both sides of the continent.
The Dragons Harold Matthews team (U16) will take on SWSAS at Kirkham Park, Elderslie while the Dragons SG Ball team (U18) fly out to Charles Riley Reserve, Perth respectively.
Dragons SG Ball Coach Brad Liggins hopes his team will continue its recent winning streak.
“We hope to continue our form, improve our defence and work on our attack,” said Liggins.
“We also hope to keep building as a team each week and I hope they go well as it’s a long trip.”
Both teams have an early start with the Harold Matthews kicking off at 10:30am and the SG Ball starting at 11:00am.
The Illawarra Steelers return to action against the Parramatta Eels at Patrician Brothers College Blacktown.
After having the bye last weekend, all players and coaching staff from the Steelers Harold Matthews team (U16) and SG Ball team (U18) will be excited to get back into their respective competition having spent the past two weeks training.
The home side, the Eels, in the Harold Matthews competition are in first place with two convincing victories.
However, while the Steelers sit in ninth position with one draw, they will be hoping a win here will to propel them towards a top eight spot and kick start their season.
On the other hand, it is much closer in the SG Ball competition with the Parramatta and Illawarra sides in third and fourth respectively.
A win for either side may push them to the top of the competition, a great position to have with the short nine round format of the competition.
Harold Matthews kick off at 10.00am before the SG Ball sides play at 11.30am.
