St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team five-eighth Drew Hutchison is ready for the unique challenge ahead representing the Junior Kangaroos agains New Zealand at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland on Saturday.

The Albion Park Oak Flats Eagles junior was invited to train with the Dragons first-grade squad midway through the season and has since progressed from the Under 20's competition to representing the Illawarra Cutters in the NSW Cup.

Hutchison will be joined by teammates Euan Aitken and Jack Bird in the 18-man squad named by Head Coach Kelly Egan.

"It's a massive honourto have been named alongside some of the very best young and talented players in the game," said Hutchison.

"I am confident we will all be able to come together and show everyone what we can do against the Junior Kiwis.

"Representing the Junior Kangaroos became one of my main goals towards the end of the season as prior to that I had wanted to establish myself in the Dragons full-time first-grade squad.

"It is very humbling to be named as the Junior Kangaroos five-eighth by the coaching staff here and I hope be able to repay their faith in Auckland."
