St George Illawarra Dragons utility Kyle Stanley was limited to only nine appearances in the Red V jersey this season.

The Hurstville United junior, recently selected in the Toa Samoa train-on squad ahead of the Four Nations tournament, played in the first five games of the season before later succumbing to an hamstring injury.

Stanley overcame the ailment and returned to the field for the Illawarra Cutters where he featured in the lock-forward position.

Stanley was able to return to the first-grade field against the Canberra Raiders in Round 23 and continued to play the remaining three games.

He made his only appearance on the run-on side as hooker where he scored his sole try of the year.
