St George Illawarra Dragons second-rower Tyson Frizell is confident the Red V can finish the season respectfully when they clash with the Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium, Newcastle on Sunday.

The Wales international is unhappy that the Red-and-Whites’ march to the Finals was thwarted when they were defeated 30-22 in a nail-biting game against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane last round.

Despite his disappointment following Skipper Ben Creagh’s injury, the 22-year-old believes that fellow teammate Brett Morris will flourish in the role as captain for this round’s encounter.

“It was a disappointing loss against the broncos; we were good in patches but it wasn’t enough,” said Frizell.

“We’d been preparing and talking about that game all week during the lead up but credit to the Broncos for dominating the game.

“It doesn’t matter that we can’t move on to the semi finals, our goal is to win this weekend and finish on a high.

“Newcastle are coming off a few losses so they’ll be itching for a win too, it should be a good match.

“It’s unfortunate that Ben Creagh got an injury at that time of the game and now he has to miss out on the last game of the season but we have to move forward.

“Benny was a big part of our team and he always lead from the front, but I know that any of the boys who jump into that role will do a good job.

“Following a loss we try to be as positive as possible; we need to move on from stuff like that.

“We can’t come to training moping about what happened last week; we have bigger and better things to do.”
