St George Illawarra Dragons prop Trent Merrin is not buying into any speculation of a hoodoo ahead of the match against the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium, Canberra on Saturday.
The NSW Blues representative admits that defeat to the Penrith Panthers last round has left the team needing to win their final four fixtures if they are to potentially clinch a Finals berth.
The Red-and-Whites hit the road and travel to the nation’s capital this round in an away fixture they have not won for over a decade.

Despite this harrowing statistic, Merrin does not buy into the upcoming clash as being a bogey-game and concedes the team must win if they want to prove their ambitions.
“I’m a bit over it and I’m not buying into it,” said Merrin.
“It’s definitely going to come up and might even be on the back page of the paper but we’ve just got to worry about ourselves.
“Every week is a must win now and that’s the way we’re taking it.
“We need to look at each round now as winnable games and that needs to be our approach now.
“We went alright during the first-half of the Panthers game and knew what they were going to throw at us.
“We tried to hang in there but they came out firing in the second half and pretty much blew us off the park.
“It was a must win game for us and everyone’s heads are down and bashing themselves up a bit.
“In saying that, we have a game now against Canberra so we need to return to being upbeat during the week to do one over them.
“We’ve got to let this one go now, forget about it, and concentrate on next week.
“That’s where it all starts, we can’t bash ourselves up too much about it as we’ve just got to pick each other up and move on.”
