The St George Illawarra Dragons helped to usher in the new Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Snake at Hurstville on Saturday.
Dragons duo Mitch Rein and Nathan Green were both in attendance for the celebrations, now in its tenth year, and took part in a vast array of free activities and events in and around the community.
Activities on the day included a special workshop that explored Chinese and Vietnamese celebrations and story time sessions celebrating Year of the Snake, as well as a vibrant street-parade.
“It was a really great day to be involved in and an eye-opening experience that helped me to learn the customs and traditions of several cultures,” said Rein.
“I wasn’t game enough to get involved in the street parade but it was a fun to watch everyone enjoy themselves and get involved.”
