Support Men's Health With Movember Rein

St George Illawarra Dragons hooker Mitch Rein has joined the 2012 Movember campaign, growing a moustache for a month to raise funds and awareness for men's health.

Rein and his team "Movember Rein" will be sporting facial hair for 30 days in the hope that Red V Members and Dragons fans will give generously and help raise vital funds for causes including prostate cancer and male mental health.

"It’s a bit of fun but also for a good cause," said Rein.

"This year my dad and two brothers are all trying to grow moustaches, raise money and do our part.

"My two younger brothers are getting there but my dad’s is pretty grey.

"Ours are all pretty red.

"It’s to raise awareness for men’s mental and physical health including prostate cancer."

Since its beginnings in Melbourne, more than 1.9 million people have taken part in Movember, and in 2011 more than 850,000 people raised over $124 million.

In 2012, Movember is continuing its work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, and to act on that knowledge, thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
