St George Illawarra Dragons five-eighth Jamie Soward believes the team isn’t far away from winning their first game of the season.
The Wagga Kangaroos junior is confident that the plan the coaches have in place will lead to victories and that it is up to the players to properly execute.

The pivot believes the team has been playing good football but they must be more consistent throughout the full game.
According to Soward the team is fully aware of the situation they’re in but are remaining confident and focused on where they want to be this season.
He remains confident that his body is up to the task and that he must transfer that onto the field.
“It’s disappointing we haven’t won yet but we had a good training session today and we’re not far away,” said Soward.
“At crucial times in the game the balls not bouncing our way so we just need to keep turning up and focus on our next game against the Sharks.
“Everyone is happy with the plan we have in place, the coaching staff worked very hard over the offseason to put it in place and now it’s just a matter of us executing it properly on the field.
“We’ve been playing good footy in patches, it’s just a matter of putting it together for the full 80 minutes.
“We’re creating opportunities we just need to make sure we’re finishing them off.
“I think the things we’re trying to do are working in certain aspects, the issue seems to be that we’re not grabbing the opportunities at the moment.
“The confidence amongst the group is still great.
“We got together this morning and had a chat and we all understand the position that we’re in and where we want to be.
“Personally I feel good, my body feels great but it’s just a matter of me transferring that to the field and focus on doing some of the smaller things that will help the team win.”
