The St George Illawarra Dragons will celebrate their opening home game of the season against the Brisbane Broncos at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Friday with an exclusive pre-match live performance by Australia’s most successful dance act The Potbelleez.
The Potbelleez, comprising of Ilan Kidron on vocals and guitar and DJ’s Jonny Sonic and Dave Goode, himself a self-confessed Dragons supporter, will perform hits from their extensive discography on the night including two-time Platinum single “Don’t Hold Back” new single “Saved In A Bottle”.
"We are pumped to be performing for the Dragons at WIN Stadium on Friday night,” said Goode.
“It's going to be a great match and the perfect way to kick-start our tour! Go the Dragons!"
This unique opportunity has been created thanks to Apparel Partner Jeep whose Advertising theme song is The Potbelleez “Don’t Hold Back”.
“The Potbelleez are synonymous with our Jeep advertising and this is a great way to kick off our 2013 Partnership with the Dragons as part of our match day presenting partner activities,” said Fiat Chrysler Group Director, Corporate Affairs, Karla Leach.
Dragons CEO Peter Doust indicated that this initiative was inline with the Club’s desire to create memorable match day experiences for patrons who attend Dragons home games.
“With TV Broadcast and content opportunities improving each year, there is certainly a challenge for clubs to come up with activities in and around the matches to encourage people to attend live events,” said Doust.
“We are really excited by the opportunity that our Partner Jeep has brought to us in the Potbelleez and it is a fantastic way to kick-off our home game season.
“I would certainly encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the experience as it is not every day that you have the opportunity to see such international quality musicians in conjunction with sporting matches.
The Dragons opening home game of the season is part of a blockbuster double-header, which will also encompass the Wollongong Hawks contesting the courts against the Sydney Kings (National Basketball League).
The Hawks will tip off the night at 6.00pm with their clash against the Kings at the WIN Entertainment Centre with the Dragons to follow suit against the Broncos at WIN Stadium, kicking off at 8.10pm.
A bundled ticket offer is available which entitles patrons a reserved seat at both the Hawks and Dragons events at WIN Entertainment Centre and WIN Stadium.
The Potbelleez have announced a run of tour dates nationwide to coincide with the release of their brand new single “Saved In A Bottle”, available now, and will be touring round Australia from Saturday, March 16 through to Saturday, May 4.
