Morris Popular Choice In NRL All-Stars Voting

St George Illawarra Dragons Player of the Year Brett Morris is currently leading the charge to represent the Club at the fourth annual NRL All-Stars match at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Saturday, February 9.

The Dragons winger is presently ahead of teammates Ben Creagh, Trent Merrin and Jason Nightingale and is the third most-popular player overall in voting across the 16 NRL Clubs

As in previous years, they must choose two forwards and two backs from each club to form a shortlist which will be refined for Stage Two of the voting.

Dragons winger Jason Nightingale proved to be the popular choice at the end of voting proceedings last season and is amongst a contingent of Dragons players involved for selection this time around.

At the completion of Stage One voting, NRL All-Stars Head Coach Wayne Bennett will place the 64 players chosen into his preferred positions, as well as outline the make-up of the bench positions.

Stage Two of voting will commence on Monday, December 10, where Red V Memebrs and supporters have the challenge of selecting just one player from each of the 16 NRL Clubs.

Bennett and the NRL All Stars coaching staff will later select the remaining two players to form the final 20-man squad, which last year included utility Nathan Fien.

Overview of NRL All Stars voting:
The first player to be chosen in the NRL All Stars team will be the player who scores the highest number of overall votes in a position.
Once a player from one club is placed in the team, no other player from that club can be selected.
If a player withdraws from the team due to injury, he will be replaced by someone from the bench.
The open bench spot will then be replaced by someone from the injured player’s club, depending on the position needed for the bench.
