St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team Head Coach Justin Holbrook is “wrapped” by his stalwarts’ progression to the preliminary finals.
The Red-and-Whites sealed their passage following a convincing 46-10 elimination finals win over the Canterbuy-Bankstown Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Friday.
Holbrook was bolstered in the ranks by the returning props pairing of Kem Seru and Jack Stockwell in time to notch the comprehensive win over the Minor Premiers and sounded out a dedicate first-half defensive play as the pivotal moment of the match.
“It’s a fantastic feeling and another great win for the boys – I’m wrapped,” said Holbrook.
“I thought our defence before halftime was outstanding and our last three minutes we were defending our line and that’s a key to winning games – moments like that.
“Both sides were trying to stay alive and everything was on the line.
“I think Kem needed last week off as he was a bit flat but we needed him against the Bulldogs and he did his job out there.
“Having Jack back was also a big lift for the boys and I thought he played well.”
