St George Illawarra Dragons Players and Club Ambassadors helped celebrate the Christmas cheer in several locations by acting as ‘Secret Santas’ and giving away gift vouchers to unsuspecting locals on Wednesday.
New Zealand international winger Jason Nightingale, alongside centre Chase Stanley and Dragons Ambassador Ben Hornby, scoured the shops of Westfield Hurstville Shopping Centre performing acts of kindness for patrons as part of the Dragons Community, One Community and Momentum Energy joint initiative.

Simultaneously, New South Wales representative prop Trent Merrin, together with lock Jack de Belin and Dragons Ambassador Dean Young, did the same this at Westfield Warrawong Shopping Centre.
“We’ve been out in the community trying to give something back to those who might need some assistance at this time of the year in the area,” said Merrin.
“We’ve seen a few people with a lot in their trolleys who need some help so we’ve tried to provide them with some gifts to help them along for Christmas.
“It’s a tough time of the year trying to get presents for everyone under certain circumstances so we’ve tried to help and give them a smile on their faces.
“To see their reactions on their faces have made our day as much as it has theirs.”
