DRAGONS WOMEN IN LEAGUE ACTIVITIES

This Friday night's round 16 clash with the Tigers is the Dragons Women in League Round.

The Dragons are asking all supporters to take the opportunity to get out to WIN Jubilee Kogarah, celebrate the contribution of women in league and show your support for the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation and will be undertaking the following activities:

Pink V Jersey – Friday, June 25

In conjunction with the NRL’s Harvey Norman “Women in League” Round – the St George Illawarra Dragons will be raising awareness and money for the Joanne MacKay Breast Cancer Foundation by changing the famous Red V to a Pink V for the Dragons Clash with the Tigers at WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Friday, June 25.

These special Reebok jerseys will be signed by the players after the Tigers game and auctioned off with proceeds going to the Joanne MacKay Breast Cancer Foundation.

The auction will open on 7pm on Wednesday, June 23 and run until 5pm on Friday, July 2. Bids can be placed online through www.dragons.com.au

Ladies Night at the Footy – Friday, June 25

The Dragons Crystal Bears Women in League will also be hosting a “Ladies Night at the Footy” function on Friday, June 25 at the St George Leagues Club prior to the Dragons Women in League Round clash with the Tigers at WIN Jubilee Oval.

The function includes entertainment, pink champagne, pink cocktails, make-up and hair styling, complimentary gifts and a grandstand seat to the game with proceeds from the function and sales going to the Joanne MacKay Breast Cancer Foundation.

Jamie Soward’s Pink Headgear and Pink Boot – Friday, June 25

Star five-eight and Dragons Women in League Player Ambassador Jamie Soward will be donating his custom made Madison pink headgear to be auctioned online. The auction of the signed headgear will open at 7pm on Wednesday, June 23 and run until 4pm Friday, July 2. Bids can be placed online through www.dragons.com.au with all proceeds going to the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation.

Jamie’s right boot will be donated to Rugby League’s One Community to be auctioned with proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.

The Dragons website www.dragons.com.au has been morphed pink for the duration of the Harvey Norman Women in League Round to raise awareness and celebrate the contribution of Women in Rugby League.

Community Corner – Friday, June 25

The Dragons ‘Community Corner’ at WIN Jubilee Oval will this week be hosting 20 “Jo’s Helping Hand” patient care nurses who assist patients undergoing treatment of breast cancer thanks to the support of the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation. The Community Corner is a 2010 Dragons Community initiative providing volunteers and community groups the opportunity to experience a Dragons game.

Match Day Womens and Girls Rugby League - Friday, June 25

Pre-match U12 junior girls rugby league exhibition match will be played between Kingsgrove Public School and Holy Spirit, North Ryde. At half-time of the NRL game a womens full contact rugby league game will be played between Corrimal v Appin from the Illawarra Womens Rugby League competition with thanks to Coca Cola.

Harvey Norman “Pinkest” Fan Awards

Thanks to Harvey Norman the Dragons will be awarding $250 each to the “Pinkest Fan” and the “Pinkest Group” during Dragons TV live venue broadcast prior to the NRL kickoff. Fans wishing to be involved are encouraged to arrive at the stadium before 6.30pm.

The Dragons Pink V - Kokoda Trail Ladies

The “Pink V Kokoda Trail Ladies” will be attending the Women in League function and the game. The ladies from Thirroul Butchers Junior Rugby League Club have been training and fundraising with the support of the St George Illawarra Dragons in their quest to conquer the Kokoda Trail on July 5, to raise funds for the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation.
