In 2010 our players spent almost 9500 hours in the community.
Our players are regularly out and about participating in sustainable appearance programs facilitated through Dragons Community and the various programs within the eight pillars of Dragons Community: Health, Education, Mentoring, Women and Girls, Charities, Grassroots, Culture and Education. As well as partaking in signing sessions, ‘meet and greets’ and other corporate functions.
The Dragons receive a large number of these player appearance requests each and every day, with the majority allocated to honoring our long-standing commitments to various nominated charities, community programs and corporate partners.
As a result of the already large number of player appearances Dragons players carry out as part of our commitment to Dragons Community and nominated charities, combined with their training schedule; the opportunities for other player appearances are limited and need to be well managed.
We will give your request due consideration and will endeavor to assist where possible in cases where at least six (6) weeks notice is given. Please understand it is not possible to fulfill every request.
Please note that requests for funerals, birthdays, weddings, house or personal hospital visits are not able to be facilitated by the St George Illawarra Dragons.
Player Request Guidelines:
We recommend that your event does not focus purely on the anticipation of a player appearance, instead the player appearance should be approached as an added ‘bonus’ to your event or program.
All requests should be received six weeks prior to the event and in writing and/or email (phone requests will not be accepted) on company letterhead and mailed to:

Information required within the request is as follows:
- Organisation
- Event name
- Event date/time/place
- Event description
- Purpose of the event
- Is this appearance for charity? If so, which charity?
- Requirements of players
- Estimated travel time from Wollongong
- Contact details/name/phone/email
Please note players are also subject to availability taking into consideration the following factors:
- Players are not available for appearances on match day
- Players are not available for appearances two days prior to a match
- Players are not available for appearances during the off season (from the date of their final game to the start of pre-season training)
- Players are not available for appearances during the NRL Final Series
- Players are not available for appearances during the teams BYE weekend’s
Please note that unfortunately the Club and the Dragons Player Appearance Coordinator cannot accept responsibility for last minute player cancellations due to injury/illness/change of training schedule’s.
